पंचम नागा यह नाग पंचमी त्योहार का उत्सव है। हर साल सावन माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की पंचमी तिथि को यह आयोजन मनाया जाता है। इस दिन विशेष रूप से नागों की पूजा की जाती है। सोमवार के दिन पड़ने के कारण नाग पंचमी का महत्व और भी बढ़ गया है। यह तथ्य कि नाग पंचमी सोमवार को पड़ती है, अत्यधिक भाग्यशाली है क्योंकि सोमवार भगवान शंकर को समर्पित है और सांपों को भगवान शिव का प्रतिनिधि माना जाता है।
नाग पंचमी का व्रत भी रखा जाता है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि नाग पंचमी पर व्रत रखने पर नाग देवता सभी की इच्छाएं पूरी करते हैं। नाग पंचमी के दिन कुछ चीजें वर्जित होती हैं। कृपया हमें इस दिन लागू होने वाले नियमों के बारे में सूचित करें।

नाग पंचमी के दिन व्यक्तिगत रूप से नागों की पूजा करना उचित नहीं है। भगवान शिव के आभूषणों के रूप में इनकी पूजा करना सौभाग्यशाली माना जाता है। यदि जीवित साँप को दूध पिलाया जाए तो उसे ज़हर दिया जा सकता है या शायद मार दिया जा सकता है। इसलिए इस दिन सांपों को दूध पिलाने की बजाय दूध से नहलाना चाहिए।

नाग पंचमी का महत्व

हिंदू धर्म ने लंबे समय से नागों को पवित्र जानवर के रूप में सम्मानित किया है। सांपों का संबंध देवता से भी है। भगवान शिव के गले का आभूषण सांप जैसा दिखता है, ठीक भगवान विष्णु की शय्या की तरह। परिणामस्वरूप नाग पंचमी के दिन नागों की पूजा करने की परंपरा है। नाग पंचमी के दिन, लोग वासुकी नाग, तक्षक नाग और शेषनाग सहित विभिन्न देवताओं की पूजा करते हैं। इस दिन घर के प्रवेश द्वार पर सर्प के आकार की सजावट भी की जाती है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि इससे नाग देवता की कृपा बनी रहती है और नाग देवता घर की रक्षा करते हैं। इस दिन रीति-रिवाजों के अनुसार पूजा करने पर नाग देवता पूरे परिवार की रक्षा करते हैं।
कहा जाता है कि नाग पंचमी के दिन नागदेव की पूजा करने से सौभाग्य की प्राप्ति होती है। जिन लोगों की कुंडली में काल सर्प दोष हो उन्हें नाग पंचमी के दिन नाग-नागिन का जोड़ा बनाकर उनकी रीति-रिवाज से पूजा करनी चाहिए। इस प्रकार काल सर्प दोष समाप्त हो जाता है।
